Not a thought leadership list. Six things I learned the hard way, building, shipping, and handing off Salesforce platforms for clients who had to live with the decisions after I left.

01/ ARCHITECTURE
The architecture review is really a stakeholder review.
The diagram is a pretext. What you are actually debating is whose team owns what, whose budget pays for what, and whose incident pager rings at 2am. Draw the political map before the data model.

02/ CLIENT TRUST
The first fifteen minutes set the next six months.
Show up with a point of view, not a deck. Clients buy conviction, not options. A short, specific opinion earns more trust in fifteen minutes than a sixty slide capability tour ever will.
Relationships
03/ DELIVERY
Ship the ugly slice in week two.
A thin, working end to end slice beats six months of clean modeling. It forces the hard integration questions early, gives the sponsor something to defend, and lets the team feel momentum before scope shifts.
Delivery
04/ LISTENING
The admin is your most important stakeholder.
Executives approve the project. Admins keep it alive. Spend the first week with the person who will own the org on Monday morning after you leave. Their pain points are the real backlog.

05/ HANDOFF
Runbooks are love letters to the team that inherits you.
Every platform I built was a handoff in the making. Write the incident playbook while the decisions are fresh. Record the loom. Leave the breadcrumbs you wish the last person had left you.

06/ JUDGEMENT
Say no more than feels comfortable.
Most Salesforce debt comes from well meaning yeses. A feature that is hard to remove later should be hard to add now. Pushing back is not difficult, it is the job. Clients remember the no that saved them.
